Athena,leader in producing motorcycle spare parts for over 40 years, unveilsits new range of 4-stroke off-road forged pistons made by reverseextrusion. Produced with cutting-edge CNC machining tools, which ensuredimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm, Athena pistons are made of aspecial high-performance aluminum alloy with high silicon content thatguarantee the same reliability of the OE piston, while at the same timeproviding greater resistance and excellent performance. The perfectlysmooth profile ensures a regular flow and the perfect flame propagation.

Somepistons’ skirts are moreover treated with a molybdenum disulfidecoating applied by screen printing which further reduce friction toenhance performance and durability.

Athena engineers ensureadvanced technical solutions and the highest quality standards equal toor better than those adopted in OE production, so as to guaranteeperformance and reliability.

Each piston, engineered in Italy by Athena R&D department, istested on engine dynamometer benches under progressive stress load, andthereafter on track to validate its performance even in the most extremeconditions.

Thispiston for Athena and OE cylinders is equipped with piston rings thatguarantee less friction with the cylinder and therefore a higherperformance.

Athena takes care of the development of the pistons down to thesmallest detail: the rings are produced in Japan with wear-resistantcoatings (PVD or chromium nitride) to increase the retain and thedurability. The rings perfectly adapt to the cylinder liner even at lowtangential load.

This piston kit contains the piston, the pin, thecirclips, and the piston rings. All components are replaceable andinterchangeable in case of need.
